Imaging is a cornerstone of scientific discovery in the 21st century. Using specialised equipment, scientists can now capture the intricate workings of an undiscovered molecular world, culminating in world class discoveries that are both globally significant and visually intriguing.
LIMS is globally recognised for its excellence, creativity and innovation in relation to the big issues of our time. From a blood test to diagnose Alzheimer's disease, to identifying a molecule that may treat cancer cachexia, our scientists push the boundaries of multidisciplinary research at the interface of health and science.
In January 2017, LIMS will run an image competition for La Trobe academic and professional staff, postdoctoral fellows and postgraduate students. Entrants will submit their image, along with a title, and a scientific and lay description.
Images will be assessed by a judging panel on their scientific merit, aesthetic appeal and technical quality. A people's choice winner will also be selected.
Join us at the opening of the exhibition, meet the brains behind the winning images and take a tour of LIMS.
