First Friday Furniture
All furniture is FREE!

To find out what is in the shed, ask to join the email list by sending an email to recycling@latrobe.edu.au and an email detailing the contents of the shed will be sent out on the Wednesday before opening. Please do not ask what is in the shed before this time.

The furniture shed will only be open on the specified dates; please do not request additional opening dates. We do not have the human resources available to accommodate such requests.

The furniture shed can only be accessed by La Trobe University staff members and students with current ID cards — ID numbers are recorded.

• Furniture is NOT to be re-sold under any circumstances.
  

• Furniture is NOT to be used for commercial purposes, including furnishing a commercial premises or furnishing a property for lease.
  

• Items that are for re-use within the University cannot be delivered.
  

• You cannot claim items prior to the opening of the shed.
  

• Electrical equipment is not available; these items are recycled through our electronic waste contractor.
  

Furniture Shed tips

• If you want a swivel chair, get there early!

• Bring a measuring tape.

• Bring friends to help you carry things.

If you’re planning on taking something large (e.g. desk, filing cabinet, couch) try to organise a trailer, ute or van, or at least clear out your car the day before.

The furniture shed usually contains desks, chairs and filing cabinets, but occasionally there will be an old printer, fax machine or photocopier — it's the luck of the draw!
