Master of Applied Science (M.App.Sc.)

Requirements for this degree as identical to those for the M.Erg. by research. That is, students are required to complete a research thesis only (50,000 words), enabling them to develop a very high level of expertise in their chosen research field. It may be completed in a minimum of one year full-time or two years part-time.

Pre-requisites

This degree differs from the M.Erg. above in that applicants are not required to have completed formal coursework in ergonomics. However, they will need to provide evidence of their competence to pursue their chosen research topic, including an Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline in which they achieved at least a B (70%) grade average.

Attendance

Contact between each student and their supervisor(s) is arranged on an individual basis.

Upgrading to a PhD

Students who can demondtrate satisfactory progress and a capacity for doctoral research may be invited to upgrade to a PhD degree
