Centre for Ergonomics and Human FactorsMaster of Ergonomics, Safety and Health (M.ESH) - Distance ModeThe Master of Ergonomics, Safety and Health is offered for distance mode study over a minimum of two years part-time (three years for a Masters with Honours) Year 1 (part time) This also constitutes the first year of the Master of Occupational Health (M.OH). That is, the two Masters courses share a common first year.
The four subjects comprising this first year of the M.ESH are: Year 2 (part-time)
HBS4/5EAM Monitoring and assessment of physical and psychosocial hazards In the middle of the year, students may apply for entry into an Honours program (entry based on academic merit), which requires an additional part-time year of study. Students who are not taking the Honours program will graduate at the end of Year 2 with a Master of Ergonomics, Safety and Health (M.ESH). Year 3 (part-time) M.ESH Honours Program
The two subjects comprising this Honours program for the M.ESH are: Students who successfully complete this year will graduate with a M.ESH (Hons).

Ergonomics is an area of specialist practice within OH&S. La Trobe University graduates have a particular advantage since the course is informed by our ergonomics research on the prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders and on the management of psychosocial hazards, which are the two largest challenges currently confronting OH&S professionals in industrially developed countries throughout the world. Following graduation, full professional status requires completion of specified periods of supervised professional practice, prior to applying for certification as a generalist OHS professional or to become a Certified Professional Ergonomist.
