HBS2/3WSP (formerly 23PEB) Workload, Stress and Performance Management

In this subject students study human motivational characteristics and performance capabilities as they relate to human error and accident prevention, and also the appropriate roles of training and behaviour modification within this context.  The aim is to enable students to understand and apply some of the concepts so as to promote safe and efficient performance at both individual and system levels.  Specific topics include: attention and arousal; skill and automaticity; models of accident causation; human error; attitudes, risk taking and decision making; training and behaviour modification; and implications for management to promote safe system performance.
