Research Storage
The e-Research Office and ICT are developing a research storage plan that includes:
- Access to many terabytes of storage space (at least 30 TB in the first instance)
- Access to the storage space direct from the researcher’s desktop as a remote network drive
- A data access and management policy that:
- Is part of the University's data policy
- Takes into account researcher's needs
- Provides for descriptive and metadata stoarge
- Provides simple file access, as well as repository and database facilities
- Is secure regarding reliability and provides for archiving
- A security model that ensures:
- Security for all types of research information, including private records
- Access using existing credentials
- Access to other parties using a generally accepted security mode
