Service Description
Consulting and advice General consulting, support and advice for researchers on issues such as computing, storage, data handling, information management, software tools and collaboration.

Access to High Performance Computing

The e-Research Office, VPAC and ICT has installed a 24 node (184 core) high performance computing cluster.

To register as a lead researcher and create a project, or register as a staff or student member of the project, or to view statistics on the HPC cluster, please use the Research Portal web page.

Access to Gaussian Computer

The e-Research Office and ICT have purchased a specialised application server for Gaussian users.

Access to central research storage

The e-Research Office and ICT are developing a research storage plan to provide researchers with many terabytes of storage space.
Access will be direct from the researcher’s desktop as a remote network drive. Forms are in the process of being created.

A work environment is being developed that allows the interconnection of a high number of geographically distributed groups to video conference at the same time they share applications.

The Victorian Partnership for Advanced Computing aims to provide independent expert services, training and support in Advanced Computing to its Members, industry and other organisations.
