Infrastructure budgeting process
The eResearch office applies for funding through the ICT budget process each year to fund eResearch infrastructure projects.
In approximately March of each year the eResearch office polls the faculties, through the Associate Deans (Research), the Library and University Administration for high value eResearch projects <$50,000.
In approximately May the projects are defined and agreed upon by the above mentioned parties. These are then put forward into the ICT project budget for the following year.
These high value projects are typically about infrastructure, complex applications and tools to promote the eResearch capability of La Trobe University.
eResearch grants
To help researchers advance their use of computing, networking and collaboration, $100,000 has been set aside for a minimum of five grants (up to $20,000 each) to aid existing research projects. For further details please go to eResearch grants.
