Confidentiality

At the initial meeting with a Disability Liaison Officer, you will be asked to complete a Confidentiality Agreement (PDF 46KB) (Word 217KB). The completed form will provide the Disability Liaison Officer with guidance on whether you wish to disclose the nature of your disability to other Universtity staff.

NB: The Disability Liaison Officer is bound by provisions of the Privacy Act, and will not release information without consent.

The Disability Liaison Officer can act as a 'filter' for this information, by verifying the disability, and making recommendations regarding adjustments to staff, without revealing any details of the disability.

If a student agrees to release information, the Disability staff contact officer will only disclose information as required.
