Become an EnviroSMART Representative
More EnviroSMART Representatives are needed!
Currently, EnviroSMART has 85 staff reps across the Bendigo and Bundoora campuses, representing about two-thirds of the University. This is outstanding, but we need more! EnviroSMART hopes to have the entire campus represented, so why not step up to the plate and play an important part in helping La Trobe become a more sustainable university.
Become an EnviroSMART Representative for your office!
Get involved and make a difference to environmental sustainability by becoming an EnviroSMART representative in your office. This program gives you the exciting opportunity to become a leader to other staff members for implementing initiatives such as recycling, green purchasing and waste management.
The first stage of La Trobe University's Green Office Program is happening now! EnviroSMART is currently rolling out an Office Recycling Program across the University which will work towards La Trobe's Gold Waste Wise accreditation. The recycling program will be the first of many "green" initiatives to be implemented throughout the University.
As part of this program, an EnviroSMART Representative from each area of the University will be taken through an induction process which will prepare them for implementing recycling and waste management practices in their department.
Send an email to envirosmart@latrobe.edu.au or phone 03 9479 3929 to register your inteerst in becoming an EnviroSMART representative.
What does an EnviroSMART Representative do?
The EnviroSMART Rep is the point of contact between EnviroSMART and your office. Training will equip EnviroSMART Reps with information and support so they can answer any questions their colleagues may have about the program. It will also assist them to gather feedback and to help smooth their office's transition to the new recycling system.
Being an EnviroSMART Rep will require only a small time commitment, and will therefore not disrupt or interfere with your normal work tasks. It will involve a short training session, and a few hours of commitment each month.
We need at least one person from each area to be an EnviroSMART Rep. Ideally this person will be enthusiatic about 'greening' the office and moving the University towards a more environmentally sustainable future.
Becoming a Rep is your opportunity to advance your position in the office by demonstrating leadership, helping a cause of global importance and having a bit of fun at the same time.
If you're interested in becoming the EnviroSMART Rep for your area or want to find out more, drop us an email at envirosmart@latrobe.edu.au or phone us on (03) 9479 3929.
