Postgraduate
The Postgraduate Diploma in Science is available to students who have completed a bachelor degree but who do not qualify to enter the Honours program.
This course is 39 weeks full time and assessment is based on assignments, presentations and a thesis. Research leading to the degrees of Master of Science (two years full-time) or Doctor of Philosophy (three years full time) may be carried out under the supervision of staff in the Department. Applicants for Doctoral candidature should already hold a Masters degree or have completed an Honours Bachelor degree at a very high level of achievement.
Applicants for Masters by Research candidature are usually required to have completed an Honours degree or Masters Preliminary.
Applications for candidature are welcome all year. The closing date for applications for scholarships is 31 October for Australian and New Zealand citizens and 30 September for overseas applicants.
