Major research areas:

1. Sixteenth and seventeenth-century English literature, especially:

  • Shakespeare
  • Early Modern drama, including drama in performance
  • Literature and social history

2. Restoration and Eighteenth-century Theatre

Current projects:

  • A new edition of Farquar's The Beaux' Stratagem for the New Mermaid series.
