Sessional Tutoring
Expressions of Interest: Casual Tutoring in the English Program
Expressions of interest are invited for sessional (casual) tutoring in English. For a list of English subjects offered please see the English undergraduate page.
Allocation of casual tutoring to postgraduate students is based on the following criteria:
- the School's commitment to equity in the distribution of teaching opportunities
- the student's level of familiarity with the subject matter taught in the course (either based on research topic or prior experience taking the course)
- academic record
- communication skills
- recommendations by the course coordinator and the student's supervisor
- the stage of the student's progress; generally, we would see the second year (or the middle stage) of postgraduate study as the most appropriate time for students to undertake tutoring
There are certain responsibilities and expectations associated with tutoring: for example, levels of preparation for tutoring on unfamiliar topics, levels of maturity in dealing with students. These will be discussed by the subject coordinator prior to the beginning of tutoring.
Please submit an application form togetherwith your CV for consideration to:
