Background

    Greg Powell was a teacher and administrator with the Victorian Government School system for 30 years teaching in the northern and western suburbs of Melbourne and then later in country Victoria.

    Greg was seconded as a Senior Project Officer to the Department of Education and Training (DE&T) Victoria in the eLearning Online Education Strategy Team (Later Years Branch) from 1999 to 2002 where he managed the National Software Evaluation Project for Australia (NSEP) and the Software Rolling Fund for Victorian Schools. During these years Greg managed the development of the QTP PD Bank website and various Sofweb and ICT websites for DE&T.

    From 2002 to 2006 Greg was lecturing in Information and Communication Technology at ACU National - School of Education Canberra.

    Greg Powell is now lecturing in ICT at La Trobe University within the School of Educational Studies (Bundoora Campus) where he lectures to the Dip of Education Primary students.

    Greg is also completing his PhD at The University of Melbourne - Faculty of Education (Department of Science and Mathematics).

Research Interests:

    Emerging Technologies, Schools for 21 st Century, leadership and ICT practices, Innovations in ICT, eLearning, change management practices in education, ICT learning communities/communities of practice, teacher professional learning practices in ICT, numeracy and ICT, literacy and ICT, health and human relations human sexuality education programs.
