Lorraine Ling is Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Education. Prof Ling is involved with international research projects into education policy and the changing nature of academic work. She is also involved in the professional development of teachers and academics.She has undertaken a World Bank Consultancy in Indonesia as well as acting as Academic Program Director for the IBRD Indonesia Primary School Teacher Development Project. Prof Ling has worked extensively in overseas universities and is the co-chairperson of the professional development Working Group of the Association for Teacher Education in Europe. Lorraine is involved with designing and delivering professional development programs for teachers and other professionals in both metropolitan and regional contexts as well as overseas. Prof Ling has worked in conjunction with institutes in the VET sector to devise and implement innovative courses which involve credit transfer and articulation of courses between the VET and Higher Education sectors. These courses have resulted in the provision of courses of teacher training for TAFE and other VET trainers. Prof Ling's research focuses upon educational administration and policy, values and equity issues, professional development and the political, economic and social context of education and training.
