School of Education Research Society (SOERS)

In 2013, a small group of doctoral research students at La Trobe University Bundoora initiated what was to become the School of Education Research Society (SOERS) in an effort to create a forum to redress the isolation many students were experiencing as a consequence of the research experience.

"The School of Education Research Society aims to encourage networking, peer assistance, methodological discussion and the enhancement of skills and knowledge for those researching in the field of Education"

Today, the School of Education Research Society continues to be affiliated with the La Trobe Student Union (LTSU), and as such, receives benefits from many of the services, grants and opportunities offered through the LTSU Clubs and Societies.

Achievements of the SOERS in 2016 include:

  • Conference showcasing the research of Education Doctoral and PhD students
  • Nominated the winning candidate of the 2016 LTSU Research Supervisor Award

The Society is free to join for all La Trobe University students researching in the field of Education, and encourages all graduate research students to join in.

The SOERS will be holding the first meeting for 2017 in February, and all Education research students are encouraged to attend!
