The power of education surrounds us. Where education was once something formalised only in schools, today learning and teaching are pervasive and life long. The Faculty of Education at La Trobe embraces contemporary and innovative approaches to education. It prides itself on teaching, scholarship, research, and community relevance. The courses reflect contemporary approaches and diversity in education. They provide for vocational outcomes in conventional schooling, alternative educational settings or the increasing opportunities available in the public service sector, tourism, and wider community.
The Faculty of Education consists of:
- Faculty of Education - Bendigo
- Faculty of Education - Melbourne (Bundoora)
- Centre for Excellence in Outdoor and Environmental Education
- Centre for Regional Education (offering programs in Albury-Wodonga, Mildura and Shepparton)
We cater for a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and interests in areas related to education and training. These include:
- pre-service teacher education programs
- outdoor education and environment, and nature tourism programs
- specialist graduate certificates and graduate diplomas, including leadership and management
- adult and vocational education
- applied linguistics
- masters and doctoral degrees by coursework
- a wide range of research higher degrees
- professional development programs
The Faculty Office and Office of the Dean are based at the Bendigo campus. A range of programs are offered at the Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Melbourne (Bundoora), Mildura and Shepparton campuses. There are also programs offered offshore in Vietnam and China. Students from other Faculties of the University may apply to enrol in individual education units.
