Information for Staff

Our role is to collaborate with teaching staff on all campuses to develop curriculum, learning and teaching approaches and resources that make the best use of available technologies.

A key aim in our work is to assist staff to develop learning and teaching approaches that are:

  • Flexible – (offer learners some choices in times they can learn and types of learning activities they participate in)
  • Blended – (make best use of time spent in face-to-face learning as well as time spent with technology-mediated learning )
  • Efficient – (make best use of available resources)
  • Pedagogically sound

and which address the issues associated with teaching in a multicampus university and with a diversity of learners.

Resources for FOE teaching staff on issues related to e-learning including:
  • Projects
The Faculty is currently engaged in several projects which include e-learning.  A certain portion of our time will be dedicated to working on these projects.
  • Staff support and Professional development
There is a need for the development of staff skills in the area of e-learning.  With consideration to what is currently offered in the STEPS program, we will be organising further development for staff in this area with a particular emphasis on the learning and teaching context in the Faculty of Education.
