Dr Caroline Walta has been appointed as Convenor of the Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary) at La Trobe University, Shepparton.

Caroline has had many years of experience in education, covering a range of ages and sectors; however her main area of focus has been Primary Education. She completed her teacher training in South Australia and commenced working the late 1960's with classes in the lower primary years. In 1969 and 1970 she joined Australian Volunteers Abroad (now Australian Volunteers Internation) and worked in PNG as a young teacher, training young men from Papua New Guinea to be teachers back in their own regions.

On her return to Australia Dr Walta married and settled in Victoria where she commenced further tertiary studies over a number of years, while working in education and raising four children. During that time she worked in several private schools in Victoria completing her teaching career at MLC. In these latter years Dr Walta had administrative, curricula and teaching responsibilities in Junior School, moving on finally to coordinating and teaching History in Years 7 and 8.
