Brief Profile

Axel Wieneke joined the Regional School of Business in 2009. In addition to his academic qualifications, Axel has a number of years of practical experience in the financial sector. Prior to his appointment at La Trobe, he was a lecturer at the University of Paderborn (Germany) from 2000 – 2006 and has also lectured at the University of Melbourne and Monash University.  Axel’s research interests are in the analysis of Financial Institutions and Economic Growth. His current research focuses on modeling the impact of ongoing financial liberalization upon domestic bank regulation and the impact of corruption upon financial liberalisation.
