About the Equality and Diversity Centre

The principal role of the La Trobe Equality and Diversity Centre is to promote full and equal participation of all students and staff of La Trobe University and to foster an environment free of discrimination and harassment.

Our aim is to promote the principles inherent in international, national and state legislation related to human rights, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity.

The Equality and Diversity Centre provides services to the University community in the following areas:

• Disability Services
• Deaf Academic Services
• Equity Training Programs
• Harassment and Discrimination Complaints
• Equal Opportunity for Women in the workplace
• Student Equity Programs
• Equity Committees

The Equality and Diversity Centre has a set of Guiding Principles upon which we aim to work while State and Commonwealth Anti-discrimination and Equity Legislation provide the legal framework.

The Equality and Diversity Centre supports students and staff from the following locations:
