Protocol

Protocol advice
Staff from the Office of Ceremonies and Protocol provide advice to the University community on the appropriate protocols for University ceremonies and official visits to the University by distinguished persons.
Advice can be given on issues such as the flying of national flags, seating arrangements for official functions, forms of address, invitations, the appropriate wearing of academic regalia and so forth.
In addition staff sometimes have questions about protocol or polite forms in relation to interactions with overseas visitors. Staff at the International Programs Office (IPO) have a range of experience in this area and often can refer such queries to expert academic staff where necessary. Please feel free to contact the relevant IPO Regional Development Manager or Marketing Officer through extension 1199 in the first instance for general advice on these matters.
