Wodonga

A function room (room G08) on the ground floor of the McAuley Arts Centre at the Wodonga Catholic College. This room can be accessed from inside the Arts Centre, or to avoid the crowds, from a door at the rear of the Arts Centre.

On arrival

  • Arrive 30-45 minutes prior to the ceremony.
  • Register your attendance with our staff member at the registration desk.
  • If you have your own academic regalia, our staff can assist you with positioning your hood or stole if required.
  • If the University is to provide your regalia, we will provide you with the La Trobe University equivalent of your highest qualification. One of our assistants will find your gown and will help you with positioning your hood or stole. Bonnets and trenchers of various sizes will be available. Please note, hood colours for each discipline vary between universities.
  • A stage plan and list of the processional order will be available for you to view in the robing room.

Marshalling

A Marshal is responsible for ensuring the academic procession is in correct order and leads the procession into the graduation venue. On stage, the Marshal assists the Mace Bearer with the testamurs.

Approximately 10-15 minutes prior to the commencement of the ceremony, the Marshal will assemble members of the academic procession. Please assist the Marshal with this task by remaining in your place once your name has been called, as it is important that the academic procession is ready to enter the hall on cue. Traditionally, the academic procession is ordered from the most junior members of staff through to the most senior appointments, with the Chancellor or Deputy Chancellor being the last person to ascend the stage. This is why you are asked your position level when completing the web-based form when registering to be in an academic procession.
