Does Corporate-Style Enterprise Architecture Work in Higher Education?

While enterprise architecture is a relatively new concept in higher education, it has long been an essential part of IT in the corporate world. As a result, many enterprise architecture techniques have been developed and refined in corporate settings.
This presentation will explore the conventionally accepted wisdom of enterprise architecture in corporate IT to see how it applies to higher education. The same practices and tools are applied in different inducstries...but is this really the best way? Perhaps a different approach to enterprise architecture is required in higher education.

Speaker: Damian Bramanis

Damian Bramanis has 11 years experience in the IT industry, and is currently the IT Architect for The University of Western Australia.

Damian's work history has spanned software engineering, IT process improvement, development methodology and architecture, as well as all phases of software development. He has worked for seven years in a corporate environment, and also within both business and government settings, before moving into Higher Education. Damian holds a BSc (Honours) majoring in Information Technology. He plays the harmonica and rides a bicycle.
