October 2011 Focus Issue
Transcultural. Transnational. Transformation: seeing and writing across cultures

Co-editors: Maryrose Casey and Will Peterson

This issue seeks to act as a forum to explore, bring together and/or set in opposition cross-cultural receptions, visions, borrowings, understandings, practices, theories and ethical ponderings. We welcome articles on any of the following topics: transcultural flows; cultural translations; inter-, intra- and cross-cultural performance practices and reception; and discussions, critiques or defences of ways of seeing, documenting or analysing across cultures.

October 2012 Focus Issue
Beyond the Fourth Wall: Design, Space and Performance. 

Co-editors Andrew Filmer, Miranda Heckenberg and Joanne Tompkins.

This focus issue will provide a forum to examine design, space and performance in Australasia and beyond.  Contributions are sought that engage with all areas of design and scenographic practice, including set, costume, lighting and sound design, new media and theatre architecture, including essays that situate design and design processes  within the context of existing debates over space, site, perception and mediation or that situate Australasian design work within a wider international context. 

Proposals and expressions of interest due March 31st 2011; final deadline for articles October 31st 2011.

October 2013 Focus Issue

Burlesque and Beyond.

Today 'Burlesque with attitude' is everywhere.  All aspects of this performance form are relevant for this focus issue: from its history to the flourishing acts in Melbourne; from interviews with performers to performance analysis.  We seek expressions of interest and submissions on the broad topic of burlesque in Australia, New Zealand and beyond.

Proposals and expressions of interest due March 2012; final deadline for articles October 31st 2012.
