Department of Environmental Management & Ecology

The Department is located at the Albury-Wodonga campus of La Trobe University, in North Eastern Victoria, adjacent to the Murray River.

The Department's core offering is a 3-year Bachelor of Science program in natural resource management, ecology and pollution control. It also delivers a general first-year science program which enables students to progress to the Melbourne campus of the University to complete degrees in Biology, Chemical Science, General Science, Wildlife and Conservation Biology and Agricultural Science.

Honours, Masters and PhD students are also accommodated, supervised by lecturing staff with research interests in land management practices, aquatic science (the Department is a member of the Australian CRC eWater and has close collaboration with Murray Darling Freshwater Research Centre located on the Albury-Wodonga campus), conservation biology/genetics, wildlife management, and pollution control. The department also has staff who collaborate with the Research Centre for Applied Alpine Ecology.
