It is expected that graduates will be employed in a number of areas, including:
• Government and semi-government agencies (Federal, State, Local) involved in the management of river basins, catchment areas, soil resources, water resources, forest resources, conservation, land resources, mineral resources.
• Government agencies involved in establishment of policy and implementation of programs or policing with respect to environmental protection and pollution control and waste management, utilisation and minimisation.
• Private industry involved in natural resource management (irrigation, forestry, agriculture, livestock).
• Private or government industry concerned with waste minimisation, utilisation and management stemming from either resource processing or manufacturing.
• Research organisations involved in ecological environmental studies, natural resource management, or waste management (CSIRO, Universities, Federal and State Institutions).
In addition, graduates could be employed individually as ecologists, environmental consultants, teachers, scientific journalists, environmental protection and pollution control officers, waste managers, limnologists, biologists, fisheries and wildlife officers, water quality managers, environmental policy analysts, catchment managers, conservation/population geneticists, public land managers, research managers.
