Effective Teaching at La Trobe for Casual Lecturers and Tutors

  • Intended audience: Casual / sessional lecturers and tutors teaching at a regional campus
  • Workshop size: Minimum of 12 participants required
  • Cancellation policy: The CTLC will make every effort to notify registrants of cancelled workshops at least 5 working days in advanced

The purpose of this 3-hour workshop is to make teaching at regional campuses of La Trobe University more effective, efficient, and rewarding.

This highly interactive workshop employs mini-lectures, demonstrations, vignettes, video, pair- and small-group work, short writing tasks, and formative assessments to exemplify practical, research-based strategies. Participants will receive print materials, resources and references for future reference and follow up.

How to book?

Bookings for this workshop are now made through the StaffOnLine Training Centre (requires access to StaffOnLine).

To make a booking:

  • Log on to StaffOnLine Training Centre
  • In the search template, select CTLC from the 'subject area' drop down list
  • Change the 'period' to 'future as of today'
  • Locate the workshop you wish to attend and click on 'add to basket'

For staff who do not have access to StaffOnLine (i.e., casual and honorary staff), please complete the 'Course Registration for Staff without StaffOnLine Access' form (PDF 30KB).
