At La Trobe there are some excellent examples of initiatives and work undertaken by academic and general staff to enhance student learning and experiences, and to provide support to the university’s teaching and learning community. The following interviews feature staff working in a variety of areas and roles at the university that showcase their efforts to shape the strategic directions in curriculum distinctiveness in teaching and learning at La Trobe University.

Ms Stephanie Chard is Manager of the Equality and Diversity Centre. The Equality and Diversity Centre has responsibility for delivering Equality and Diversity Awareness Programs, the focus of which is on equal opportunity, anti discrimination compliance and equity and diversity issues, working with University staff in developing outreach programs for students from the student equity groups defined by the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education. Ms Chard has held a number of positions throughout the University giving her a very broad overview of University structures, policies and procedures. Ms Chard has completed an Honours degree in Legal Studies and is currently undertaking a Master of Arts in the School of Law at La Trobe University.
