The Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Curriculum, Teaching and Learning is designed specifically for lecturers, academic managers, and academic support staff working in the Higher Education sector.
Duration
The course may be taken full-time over one semester or part-time over one or two years.
Admission requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Completion of the 3-day workshop "Effective Teaching at La Trobe" or equivalent
- Support of relevant Head of School and Associate Dean (Academic) or equivalent managers
- Permission of course coordinator - Professor Tom Angelo
Course structure
This is a 60 credit point course, requiring completion of three x 20 credit point subjects.

Enrolment information
- La Trobe University staff wishing to enrol in this course can do so by completing an online registration form for the compulsory first subject in the graduate certificate, Higher Learning by Design. The registration form displays the scheduled dates and times for the lectures / workshops.
- Staff must have successfully completed the 3-day workshop "Effective Teaching at La Trobe" before commencing the graduate certificate.
- Prospective students who are not employed by La Trobe University should contact the course coordinator before enrolling.

We understand that it is very difficult to schedule the workshops on a day and time that will suit everyone. If you are interested in completing the graduate certificate, but are unable to attend the workshops scheduled for this subject, please email your details and comments to Robyn Hodge.
