Dr Maureen Rogers
Honorary Associate

Dr Maureen Rogers has a doctorate in environmental economics which focused specifically on the role of the Precautionary Principle (dealing with environmental risk and uncertainty) in decision making. She has worked for the Centre for Sustainable Regional Communities since 1998 where she focused on the development of locally relevant sustainability indicators, working with small rural communities in Central Victoria. The Energy Footprint concept was used to build a profile of each community's carbon emission status - this information has since provided the basis for development of the Mount Alexander Sustainability Group.

Dr Rogers is a founding member of the Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance, was an invited member of the State Government's advisory panel on Women in Rural Communities, which has now formed the network of women across rural Victoria focused on issues of climate change and drought.
