Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

Quentin joined the Centre in March 2007, after completing his doctoral studies in Sustainable Development at Melbourne University. He has a background in agriculture, economics, management and conservation and holds degrees from London, Oxford and Sheffield Universities.

Quentin also worked for over 20 years Victorian Public and Parliamentary Services and extensive experience consulting on environmental and social issues in road transportation and natural resource management.

This combination of experiences inform his current research which aims to develop a practical understanding of the relationship between how farmers view their own and their family’s needs and how they make decisions to satisfy these needs. This understanding will help governments, and farmers themselves, to select and implement changes aimed at improving relationships among people living in rural communities and between people and the environment.  Meeting the needs of people now and in the future is a fundamental tenet of sustainable development.
