Abstract: Mobile ad hoc networks work based on an unrealistic assumption that each node participating in the network activity (lik routing, packet forwarding etc.) will act in a truthful manner. The consequence of which is dropping packets, creating artificial traffice/congestion etc. Newer protocols designed for ad networks attempt to solve several security problems at different layers in the OSI stack. However, in order for these protocols to work efficiently, there must be an inherent trust relation among the nodes. A simple trust framework can only help to check whether the packets are getting dropped by some node or not. In this short paper, we not only propose a new framework, but our framework help a node to anticipate what malicious activity a node might do. This anticipation helps in keeping a source node aware of possible consequences when a particular path is chosen.
