Research Title/Topic: Web services transaction management
Supervisor: Dr. Jinli Cao
Description:
There is an increasing trend of using web services for automation of cross enterprise business processes. The predominantly used transactional framework ensures process reliability via consistent state changes across participants, but the very nature of web services give rise to variants that traditional transaction management cannot cater for. The web services transaction management involves integration of heterogeneous and autonomous web services partners potentially at runtime. Some of the challenges in achieving this include varying response times as well as different levels of transactional support from the web services partners. This research focuses on the problem of dynamic integration of web services transaction partners utilizing semantic reasoning and declarative transaction behaviour
