Research Title/Topic: Data Integration on XML documents for scalability and extendibility
Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Wenny Rahayu & Dr. Jinli Cao
Description:
Data integration has been fundamental in applications that need to query across multiple heterogeneous data sources. Most data integration systems were developed using XML as the underlying data model. The XML data storages need to be enlarged frequently and the data with schemas are changed dynamically that impact on performance of data query and data search. The goal of this research is to develop a Data integration architecture which integrates information from a large number of XML data sources to provide a uniform query interface for efficient and effective global queries. Especially, it will focus on supporting features of scalability and extendibility of XML documents to enable the system to maintain the autonomy of underlying data sources while the integrated schemas with minimal changed automatically.
