Brief profile
Dr Robert Ochoki Nyamori joined La Trobe University in July 2008 a two year stint at Qatar University in Qatar and after over nine years at Massey University in New Zealand. He completed his PhD from Massey University in 2005, which focussed on transformations in local government in New Zealand following the embrace of New Public Management. Robert completed his Masters in Management Studies in Accounting from the University of Waikato in New Zealand in 1997 and a Bachelor of Education with Honours from Kenyatta University in Kenya in 1990. Since joining the School of Accounting, Robert has taught in Advanced Management Accounting and Introductory Management Accounting and is currently teaching Accounting and Accountability for the Public Sector. He has also been recently elected to the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law Board and is the Higher Degrees by Research Corrdinator for School of Accounting. Robert’s research interests include accounting and accountability in the public sector, strategic management accounting, corporate governance and accounting and subjectivity. His work has been published in Journal of Accounting Literature, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, Financial Management and Accountability Journal and International Journal of Human Resource Management. He is currently studying performance contracting and accountability in the Kenyan public sector, accounting and accountability for the Constituency Development Fund in Kenya, and strategic and accounting change and performance in SMEs in Australia.
