Other fees

Depending on the subjects chosen, extra costs can include a laboratory coat for around A$30 and a dissecting kit for around A$40.

Course structure

In your first year, you'll study foundation subjects that introduce you to principles of chemistry, genetics and biology. You will also choose two electives in first year from a range of recommended subject options including:

  • life sciences
  • mathematics
  • plant science.

During your second and third years, you'll do specialist subjects in areas including:

  • microbiology
  • agricultural science
  • animal nutrition
  • cell biology.

You can also do paid work experience with our industry partners between semesters.
