Bachelor of Nursing (pre-registration)
Choose Nursing at La Trobe
Gain the skills and knowledge you need to work in a range of healthcare, education and government environments at Australia's first university to offer nursing.*
Beginning with the fundamentals of biosciences, professional practice and assessments, and determinants of health, you’ll then move on to studies in long-term critical illness, Indigenous health and intercultural health – preparing you in caring for people of all ages and cultures, with a range of conditions and needs. You'll also learn how to manage your time, lead teams, manage caseloads and make ethical clinical decisions with a compassionate and caring approach.
Your practical experience starts at our on-campus hospital simulation centres, and extends to supervised experience and placements in hospitals and healthcare agencies. If you study at our Melbourne campus, you'll be located at one of our Clinical Schools for your final two years of study. Each school has its own teaching space and is based at a leading hospital such as The Alfred, Austin Health, Northern Health and Royal Melbourne.
