- This course aims to give students the knowledge and skills necessary for careers in a wide range of areas within the private and public sectors. It adopts a problem-focused approach that helps students develop important problem-solving and decision-making skills relevant to any business.
Depending on campus, majors include business economics, financial planning, financial management, human resource (HR) management, international business, international management, macroeconomics, management, management information systems, marketing, and sustainable resource management. The flexible program includes an exit point at Diploma level for domestic students only (see Diploma in Business). - Prerequisite
- VCE Units 3 & 4: study score of at least 25 in English (ESL) or 20 in any other English.

- Non-Year 12 applicants must complete and submit a VTAC Personal History online if they wish other information to be considered during the selection process. This may include information such as work experience or reasons for applying. Applicants may wish to provide other documentation in support of their application.

- Completion of Business Management, Accounting or Economics facilitates an additional aggregate point per study, to a maximum of 2 points. Performance in prerequisite studies and Business Studies (any) is also considered, as are criteria for the Rural and Regional Access Scheme (RRSAS) and Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS).

- Professional recognition

- Please note: Bendigo students must transfer to Melbourne after 2 years (full-time). Bendigo students who want to major in accounting can apply to transfer into the Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Accounting at Melbourne.

- All La Trobe University Law courses include the subjects required by the Victorian Council of Legal Education to qualify for admission to legal practice. Admission to practice as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria usually requires the completion of a traineeship (formerly referred to as articles of clerkship) or an approved practical legal training course (for example, the Leo Cussen Institute or the College of Law Victoria).Graduates with a marketing major are eligible for associate membership of the Australian Marketing Institute or the Australian Market and Social Research Society. Graduates with a human resource management major are eligible for admission to the Australian Human Resource Institute (subject to relevant work experience).

As part of our commitment to innovating curriculum design and development, we have recently appointed several Work Integrated Learning Coordinators at our Melbourne and Regional campuses. Work integrated learning means you'll get to apply your skills in the workplace, as you study. You can earn credit towards your degree through work placements or simulations. Work integrated learning is endorsed by the Federal Government and industry groups such as the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
