- This course provides a pathway to the internationally-recognised Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter and international professional recognition of the specialised field of Islamic finance. It aims to give students expertise in financial analysis while specialising in the expanding field of Islamic finance.
- Prerequisite
- A La Trobe University three-year Bachelor's degree or an approved equivalent undergraduate or postgraduate degree with an average in excess of 60 per cent in the final year.
- Fee amount
- Indicative (2013): $20 630 per 120 credit points.

- Professional recognition
- Established in 1962, the CFA Charter sets the global standard for investment knowledge, standards and ethics. With four years' industry experience, graduates can obtain the CFA Charter by successfully completing examinations at three levels, set by CFA Institute.

- This is the first course in Australia dedicated to Islamic banking and finance. A cutting-edge program, it is built around a defined body of knowledge of proven relevance to the Islamic finance industry, aiming to train students in the technical skills in demand by global Islamic capital markets and institutions. The program seeks to meet the growing need for graduates with sound academic and industry knowledge in Islamic finance in the Middle East and South East Asia, and in particular, the Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC), Indonesia and Malaysia.

Postgraduate coursework programs are either:
- Fee-paying (where you pay the full cost of the course). FEE-HELP is available.
- CSP (Commonwealth Supported Place), subsidised by the Commonwealth Government where you pay a contribution towards course costs. HECS-HELP is available.
