Career opportunities

​The Bachelor of Technology Education is accredited by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). Graduates from this degree will be prepared for teaching in secondary schools (VCAL). Students undertaking this degree will also be prepared for a range of careers in other teaching-related areas such as:

  • TAFE
  • community
  • non-traditional learning environments, including advisory boards, private organisations and local and state government.

Teaching in some sectors may require further studies or certification.

What you'll learn

You'll learn how to translate your industry expertise to an education setting. You’ll focus on literacy and numeracy skills as well as methods of teaching technology across different TAFE and secondary school levels. You’ll also learn how to plan and deliver effective lessons, by studying professional practice theory applying this during 80 days of professional placement throughout your degree.
