Course structure

Starting with the core foundation knowledge required for all managers, the course then  provides the opportunity for you to develop your specialisation in Human Resource Management.

In the first year, you'll be introduced to management disciplines including accounting and finance, marketing management, statistics for business and finance, and organisational behaviour. Second year focuses on international employment relations, developing people and high performance organisations, and looks into advanced remuneration and performance management. In addition to this, you'll be expected to complete a total of four La Trobe Business School elective subjects, and one capstone subject.

Students wishing to continue on to research can complete the Business Research Methods subject (MGT5BRM) and a 45 credit point thesis (MGT5THE) in second year in place of four other subjects (pending subject WAM requirements).
