Creative ArtsWhy study Creative arts?

If you are an undergraduate student with a strong academic record, Honours in Cinema Studies, English, Media Arts: Screen plus Sound, or Theatre and Drama gives you the opportunity to pursue a year long program of study (two years part-time) which combines coursework and research in a specialised area of knowledge. You can also elect to undertake a combined Honours year and gain expertise in two areas of study for a broad-ranging qualification. The Honours program will prepare you for further academic study or for work in specific fields and industries involving creative writing, screenwriting, writing for the media and theatre production, as other arts related occupations in fields such as media arts -screen and sound, theatre and performance and teaching. Complete the Honours program with a high overall grade to qualify for entry into the Masters by Research program, or, in cases of high achievement, direct entry into the PhD program.

Career opportunities

Publishing and editing, writing, arts criticism, scriptwriting and performance, as well as in other arts-related occupations in fields such as film, media, theatre, and teaching.
