Botany
Why research Botany?
Our research is in two main areas: environmental science and management, and molecular and physiological cell biology. We have well-equipped laboratories, glasshouses and growth facilities.
We conduct research independently and with organisations such as the Department of Primary Industry, GRDC and Parks Victoria. Through Australian Government-funded research projects, we have international inks with Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with the best minds in your field locally and internationally.
Students have access to some of the best teaching and research facilities in the world. AgriBio, the Centre of AgriBioscience, is one of Australia’s premier research facilities. AgriBio will support the agricultural sector through improved productivity, better disease protection and reduced environmental impact.
