Animal veterinary biosciences
An Honours qualification in animal and veterinary bioscience allows you to extend your knowledge of animal health and welfare, and to explore your area of interest in greater detail. As a member of one of our research groups, you will gain critical thinking and in-depth research skills that will give you the advantage when it comes to establishing your career.
La Trobe’s research advantage
As one of La Trobe’s animal science researchers, you will have the advantage of La Trobe’s own dedicated animal house, on-campus farm and the La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary – all accessible on one campus. AgriBio, the Centre for AgriBioscience, will also provide you with world-class laboratory facilities and the opportunity to work among some of Australia’s most dedicated agricultural science researchers.
Career Opportunities
As well as established research skills, prospective employees look for other abilities that an Honours qualification provides, i.e. critical evaluation, time management, and written and oral presentation skills. With Honours, you will have the chance to extend your career further in research, or to apply your knowledge to broader areas of the industry.
