Course description

This course provides professionals working in a wide variety of settings, including the health, education and welfare, occupational and industrial arenas, with a comprehensive introduction to rehabilitation concepts and practices. It is desgined to prepare students from a range of health and human service delivery backgrounds to work with populations characterised by chronic illness or disability. The course aims to develop within participants an approach to rehabilitation service delivery focused on client involvement, coordination of services and the maintenance of individuals in the community. The content reflects recent developments in rehabilitation both at the Commonwealth and State level, including occupational and community-based rehabilitation systems

Tuition fee (AUD)

Indicative (2009): $14,040 (per 120 credit points)
The University reserves the right to vary fees on an annual basis. Fees will not normally rise above 7% per annum. Should the University decide to increase its fees, that increase will take effect on 1 January of the following year.

Prerequisites

Bachelor degree or Diploma in the health sciences or a related area. Applicants who have other qualifications and relevant experience will be considered.

Semester 1 and 2 (March and July)

Additional information

Students who wish to major in rehabilitation counselling and meet educational requirements for membership of Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors must take both subjects PHE4REC and PHE4RCP.
