Course description

Note: This course is not accepting new enrolments in 2009.

The Doctorate program is designed to be vocationally relevant and structured to encourage students to develop a course of study to best suit their individual needs. The program offers students who have a strong interest in and capacity to undertake research in the emerging and increasingly sophisticated field of conflict resolution.

The program includes a 300 credit point thesis (50,000-60,000 words in length) and 60 credit points taken from the Master of Conflict Resolution or Master of Laws programs. All coursework unit requirements must be completed before the thesis is commenced.

Fees apply to the 60 credit points of coursework subjects taken from the Master of Conflict Resolution or Master of Laws programs.

Prerequisites

Applicants must have completed the Master of Conflict Resolution, Master of Laws, or equivalent. Those without a completed Master's may be eligible for admission or articulation - see below.
Applicants will be eligible to articulate into the Doctor of Conflict Resolution program if they have completed: the requirements of the La Trobe University Master of Conflict Resolution with a B average in at least four units. Applicants who have completed a degree from another institution which is deemed by the Head of School to be equivalent to the La Trobe Master of Conflict Resolution may be eligible to articulate into the Doctor of Conflict Resolution program.
