Course description

At the centre of this program are the concepts, technology and processes behind the support and management of web-based systems. The course offers professional development for IT professionals who want to update their skills or specialise in web technology. Students must complete eight subjects of study.

Course structure

Core subjects are in web development, engineering and service. Elective subjects are in computer networks, data communication, databases, mathematics, network security and object-oriented application development.

The University reserves the right to vary fees on an annual basis. Fees will not normally rise above 7% per annum. Should the University decide to increase its fees, that increase will take effect on 1 January of the following year.

English language requirements

IELTS (Academic) - minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0; or

TOEFL Computer-Based Test - A minimum score of 233 with a score of 5 in essay writing; or

TOEFL Paper-based Test - A minimum score of 575 with a score of 5 or more in the test of Written English; or

TOEFL Internet-based Test - A minimum score of 88 with no individual score less than 22; or

Completion of the English for Further Studies Advanced Stage 5B certificate at PG (postgraduate) level available from the La Trobe University Language Centre; or

Approved equivalent.

Academic entry requirements

An Australian Bachelor's degree or approved international equivalent, or a recognised professional or trade qualification, plus five years of industry experience.
