Course description

This program provides a path for experienced health practitioners and other graduates to further develop their expertise and undertake research in professional settings. Professional doctorates take the equivalent of three years full-time study. The first year comprises coursework in compulsory and elective units, and second and third year of a research thesis and doctoral colloquia. Supervision is by appropriately qualified staff.

Tuition fee (AUD)

The University reserves the right to vary fees on an annual basis. Fees will not normally rise above 7% per annum. Should the University decide to increase its fees, that increase will take effect on 1 January of the following year.

English language requirements

IELTS (Academic) - minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0; or

TOEFL Computer-Based Test - A minimum score of 233 with a score of 5 in essay writing; or

TOEFL Paper-based Test - A minimum score of 575 with a score of 5 or more in the test of Written English; or

TOEFL Internet-based Test - A minimum score of 88 with no individual score less than 22; or

Completion of the English for Further Studies Advanced Stage 5B certificate at PG (postgraduate) level available from the La Trobe University Language Centre; or

Approved equivalent.

Academic entry requirements

Applicants must have completed an Australian Master's degree or Bachelors degree with Honours at H1 or H2A level, or approved international equivalent, plus at least three years of relevant professional experience. Applicants are also required to provide evidence of research expertise.
