Course description
This course allows students to combine a career-oriented agricultural science degree with business and management skills, giving them a powerful set of capabilities for the agricultural industries. Agribusiness is currently an area of skills shortage and the industry is actively seeking qualified graduates. Majors in the Bachelor of Business include Business Economics, Financial Management, Management and Marketing.

Course structure
First-year studies include agricultural systems, cells and organisms, chemistry, plant science, economics. Second- and-third year studies include land and soil management, plant and animal production and management, agribusiness/marketing, landscape management with gis and remote sensing, sustainability, statistics, accounting and accounting management, and business law. Fourth- and fifth-year studies include case studies in agriculture science, experimental design, major research project, further studies in plant and animal production and management.

Tuition fee (AUD)

The University reserves the right to vary fees on an annual basis. Fees will not normally rise above 7% per annum. Should the University decide to increase its fees, that increase will take effect on 1 January of the following year.
Additional costs (AUD)
Depending on the subjects chosen, approximate costs include: laboratory coat - A$30, dissecting kit - A$40. These may be purchased from any supplier and become students' personal property.
English language requirements
Successful completion of English for Further Studies Advanced Stage 5B certificate at undergraduate (EFS5 (60%) UG) level conducted by La Trobe University Language Centre;

IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no individual band score less than 6.0; or
TOEFL Paper-based Test: a minimum score of 550 with a score of 5 or better in the Test of Written English; or
TOEFL Computer-based Test: a minimum score of 213 with a score of 5 in essay writing; or
TOEFL Internet-based Test: a minimum score of 80 with no individual score less than 20; or
Satisfactory completion of an English language subject at Year 12 or equivalent level. This must have been completed in the last two years and at an academic level acceptable to the University; or
Approved equivalent.

Graduates are well-prepared for careers in agribusiness, which has a shortage of qualified staff, and in areas of agricultural science and the specialist areas of business for students who complete the double degree.
Professional recognition
Graduates are eligible for membership of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology.
For graduates of the Bachelor of Business with a Human Research Management major: Admission to the Australian Human Resource Institute (subject to relevant work experience).
For graduates of the Bachelor of Business with a Marketing major: Eligibility for joining the Australian Marketing Institute or the Marketing Research Society of Australia, as associate members.
